I am a professor in the Computer Technologies Department at Great Basin College. I have a Masters of Library and Information Science from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS and have been at GBC since January, 1989. Areas in which I have worked and taught during my motley computer career include computer literacy, database management, multimedia, programming, web site development, and network management among others. Additional qualifications (beyond the many computer and information science courses I have taken) include 5 years operating my own computer consulting and applications development business. The first software sale I made was to the Library of Congress in the late 1970's which was a microcomputer based circulation system for libraries serving the blind and physically handicapped.
On the personal side I am married (to a librarian) and have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. My hobbies include astronomy, photography, music, and reading science fact & science fiction; but not necessarily in that order.
